For some of you this might not mean as much, but the great Ray Harryhausen died today. The godfather of special effects and grandmaster of all that was stop-motion.
He did the effects for films like The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad,1 Million Years B.C., First Men On the Moon, Clash of the Titans (yes that one with Harry Hamlin and a mechanical owl) and my personal favorite Earth vs. the Flying Saucers.
