Hey guys. I'm having a great time so far. Joe P set me a great character back story, which is optional, but I would like to know more about your characters. If you have time, please send me some specifics about your characters. I would at least like to know the feats you chose, skills you took and put a lot of ranks in, traits if any, any other archetypes besides the Dragon Shawman, languages, armor and weapons - though I think i know most of the armor and weapons. Additionally I'd like to know age and general appearance (hight & build).
If you would like, drop me a line on how you would like to play your character or give me more info on what your role in the party is.
Rob, you have already given me a lot of info.
Also, I will do my part to help move things along.

Oh and I also wanted to say that you guys did a great job Tuesday. There were a few encounters that could have been much more difficult if it had not been for a good or a collection of good ideas from the party. THe encounter with the Lizardfolk is one that comes to mind.
We'll work together to speed up encounters as best we can. I'll work with the scouts and spotters on communicating back to the party with as much info as possible.

The encounters were not overly long. We dily dalied at the river. Aside from that they were perfectly timed. Each ambush from NPCs we tried to maneuver around before engaging. That is simply smart, even the lizard folk, we had to use our heads on. Positioning prior to commencement of initiative is pivotal, so don't try to speed them up too much.
I hate it when i am walking down a path all of a sudden my screen goes to battle mode with no warning. This means we have walked into a trap and already proven our foolishness.
Your tempo was fine, especially for a travel session.

Mike your tempo was excellent, I agree we dallied at the river but when you are confronted by a complex problem as a party and there are six players in it then things slow down as a matter of course. Your sessions have been alot of fun and I'm sure we players can sort this out if we even have a problem.

Mike
I'm of the feeling that not every problem should be solvable by combat. I'm in favor of a good mix. Keep it coming.

I'm not sure I would say you dallied at the river. The goal was to get 6 members across a natural obstical safely and you had a number of options. You succeeded. Some encounters will go like that, others, like the Lizardfolk, which should have been more difficult might go quickly.
I don't think Boz owes anyone an apology. There are a few things I would like to tighten up on as a DM (GM, which ever you like).
Two things are certain: 1.) you will be earning your XP by a variety of encounters; killing creatures; solving puzzles; and diplomacy. 2.) some encounters will be easy and even if the party bungles the tactics you will still be triumphant, and other encoutners can destroy you if handled poorly.
That is what makes these RPG's fun.
Is it an deaf orc behind the door or is it a red dragon guarding his hoard? Or is the room empty but ultimately you find a water trap protecting a magic sword? Evil lurks everywhere and it is an acceptionally dangerous world for a first level adventurer.
Don't forget to tell me about your Character's guys!
