Hi Joe its me Freddie Im really into Pathfinder and I was thinking about joining your game on tuesday if there is still room for another player. I would like to use a character of mine I have been using for a while now my 10th level Halfling cavalier Benjamin tealeaf and his war pig riding mount Ozzy. Thanks Freddie

Umm... Freddie? We started everybody at 1st level. The longest running characters have just hit 3rd level. We're sticking with the Core Rulebook, so the exotic character classes are discouraged. I'm not the GM, but you'll likely have to coordinate with Joe... We don't have any war pigs. We do have a house cat.

No doubt your Halfling riding Ozzie would give the party a new look, and really open up some opportunities and options they simply never had.
Group is at five now, the limit, and ofcourse limited to the core rulebook and 1st lvl.
I truely wish you and your pig well.....

Hey thanks for the info Blanty I was not sure what level you guys were playing at. Really low level games aren't that fun anyways < limited options and feats> I guess core class play is ok if your a beginning GM and just getting the hang of the game. Let me know if you get a spot open later Joe I might play a beginning character for something to do I guess. You should check out the prestige classes play at higher level is a lot more fun

You might have somewhat better luck on Wednesday nights. We're doing Pathfinder Society. See the Pathfinder Society sub board at the bottom of the Role Playing section. Most to all books and character classes are in play. The players that have been present most often are around sixth level.
Alas, our one veteran Society game master, desiring to play more and game master less (meaning, not all the time) is introducing some new guys to the game master role. The training wheels are on. Everybody is starting out at level one.
I too like to play at somewhat higher levels, but this is the Society...

I am having more fun now than I can stand and have to worry about a weak heart being so old. This is certainly designed to be a beginning role playing type campaign where players can roll some dice and learn the Path finder system. Pat runs the Wednesday night group and you certainly seem the high speed player he is looking for. You sound like you certainly have the experience to GM as well and they are certainly short of them.
Good Luck and Good gaming..
Joe

Hey thanks for the info Blanty I was not sure what level you guys were playing at. Let me know if you get a spot open later Joe I might play a beginning character for something to do I guess. You should check out the prestige classes play at higher level is a lot more fun A lot of Pathfinder games are about the character creation, character class and combat system. It's combat for combat's sake. A lot of people have fun with it. I like a game system which emphasizes the personality of the characters, the local game culture, and tries to duplicate the feel of a piece of fiction. I like the emphasis on the characters and the story rather than the game mechanics. Thus, Joe's decision to stay with the more traditional character classes seems to me a plus, even if I'm not exactly new anymore to Pathfinder. It's not exactly about using the game system correctly or incorrectly, it's about adjusting things to fit the style of the game master and players. Sounds to me like you'll be closer in style to the Wednesday night Pathfinder Society gang. Still, the Medieval Starship Pathfinder Society hasn't been active all that long. My highest level character's first run was on June 27, 2013. I've only got to 6th level by showing up nigh on every single week. As mentioned above, we're also breaking in new game masters, so we'll be running 1st level characters for a while. But feel free to swing by and see what we're about.
