Hoi chummers,
Rumour has it that on Saturday 7/28 from about 3 - 7, we're going to be running a Shadowrun campaign using Jeremy's rules. Come to the store, make a character, and play. I'm sure he'll have more instructions then.
Just don't make an Ork Technomancer - called it!

Not playing a dwarf? I'm shocked. Not sure if I'm disappointed, because I was planning on making an Ork Tough-Guy; that does make us slightly more likely to be bro's, though, so that's something. Hopefully I'll actually be able to be there for the game.
...Now that I think of it, I should totally try to make myself a custom model to use. I've got loads of ork bitz lying around...

No, no - no dwarf. I decided I wanted to go with someone a little more "persecuted" this time around and few characters get less respect than orks, and few are as feared/hated than technomancers. Of course, its still Shadowrun and I'm still me so I have a killer van. And a Harley.

Makes sense to me. Oooh, technomancer means you can help me do maintenance on my cyberlegs, which is good, because I'll probably botch that roll every time it's called for.
My character's still in progress (I don't remember Jeremy's alternate rules, nor know if he's tweaked them any, so I'm just guessing the best I can at things), but my general feeling is that he's going to be a very blue-collar kind of guy that shadowrunning just sort of....happened to. You know how it goes; big accident, cyber-replaced limbs, crushing debt combined with not being able to work your old job right away...you start looking for other options. A friend of a friend gives you a heads up about a way to make a hell of a lot more money than you're used to, and BAM, you're stuck in the shadows forever.

Hmm actually I suppose it would make alot of sense if I put his rules on this forum. I shall do that when I get to my own copy of the rules.
Love the character design though. I'm personally creating my own Stream for this game - "The Tor-skalds" - a play on words from the name of the Linux founder Linus Torvalds, TOR a website anonymizer and skald, viking poet-singers.

Howdy yalll..
In case you are curious, The only change at the moment is to the combat system. Everything else (not including some magic stuff) is still going to be RAW 4th. But the big thing is to emphasize skills over attributes during character creation. So while I do have a cool story planned, you all will also be my guinea pigs. Other skills and maybe some gear stuff. And of course DECKING in the 2070's. Still not available, but will be coming.

Y'know, I've been thinking...Jeremy, how would you have run that job we did last week if you were a player instead of the GM? I'm always interested to know how the GM envisions the solution to their own puzzles, compared to how the players go about messing everything up and still coming out unscathed.

Hmmm, probably a little more planning. I would have waited until they were on a narrower road and blocked the road with the van instead of trying to run them off the road. Less things to go wrong. I would have also planned a rapid delivery system of the gas. Something that would break armored glass. Maybe a point blank sniper shot to the glass or anything AP.
Also, maybe have some antidote or a respirator for your client in case the gas had an adverse effect.
Though, driving the off the highway and killing them is always an option.

I've a work in progress, Taira Mitsuki, a Japanese monk/face/mystic/ninja/geisha, and jane of all trades. This is my first attempt at a Shadowrunner, let alone interpreting 3.8. Comments welcome. While the equipment list is incomplete, she might be ready for play. There are three sets of numbers associated with skills. The first is levels purchased in the skill, with .5 indicating a specialty. The second number adds the skill level to the associated attribute. The third adds extra bonuses from adept abilities or other sources. The exception is the +3 to perception from the adept ability Enhanced Perception. That could be added to either of the preceding numbers. (Perception rolls seem to work differently.) For a bit more, visit www.polyticks.com/mitsuki/

Ok, so it looks like we will be starting a Shadowrun game this Saturday from 10am-2pm. The decision will be more setting. There is some definite interest in running in 2050. So that will be happening in the future. Question is what to run now. People have made characters for the 2070's. Admittedly the only difference is gear selection, but still.... And of course the tehnomancer would be out. So what about a game in 2072 first? Maybe I could tie it into the past somehow.
So vote people. Let me know what YOU want.
Also, any new player who want to check out the game, feel free to come on in. New players always welcome.

I'm not as familiar with the 2050s rules or setting. I'll be happier in 2072, but can go with the flow.

Ok, we are thinking to try out Shadowrun Saturday morning. I don't know yet about Stephen. Steve will be there anyway. So what about Adam. Anybody hear from him lately? Just trying to get a feel for it.

Y'mean me? I'm still alive, it's just that there was that big Magic weekend (so we couldn't do anything at the store anyways) and last weekend I wasn't around. This weekend I should be around, though. When did you want to start, like 10am?
