Come join us in a D&D Classic campaign. There will be death. There will be glory. There will be gold. It will be served open-faced with a light death dressing. Each entree is served with a pickle of honor and chips of obligation. If you finish, you may sample from the desert cart of levels. If you don't know how to play we can teach you. The game mechanics have a remarkably small learning curve. Negotiating your way around the previously mentioned luncheon of doom is another thing all together. We are an established group that meet at our home in Duxbury, MA every Saturday at 10am and play until the last few people drop (out). I have been DM'ing since the pamphlet days and some of us have been playing together for over a decade (that would be my wife and daughter - don't worry, no favorites, they have lost more characters than anyone else), while others are newer to the group (months to a couple of years). The setting is quite nice (our screened gaming room with a ping-pong top pool table or even outside in our yard, weather-permitting) and the company is jovial. Entry paragraph aside, I am a judgy-type DM, not a me-against-them-killy-type. The emphasis is on having fun but with the very real threat of character death, for only in overcoming great odds can one achieve great victory. The League of Ordinarily Extraordinary Gentlepeople is looking for players
What are we looking for? Mature-ish individuals who want to play a variety of tabletop games and recognize the social contract of belonging to a group. Also please do not come with an eye to running RPG’s as our current DM quite enjoys that responsibility.
Where do we play? Our house in Duxbury. We have several gaming-friendly rooms and outdoor areas for when the weather cooperates. We also have 2 cats so please don’t be allergic.
When do we play? We currently play almost every Saturday at 10am to whenever, most Sundays 10am to whenever and most weeknights are available for shorter sessions
What do we play? We are currently playing Pathfinder (Kingmaker campaign) peppered with Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, and various board, card and miniatures games. We are also planning on starting the Great Pendragon campaign and would like to kick off a 1st-edition D&D campaign. We tend to play an adventure or so in a system and then change it out to keep things interesting. Sundays tends to be dedicated to non –RPG activities but that is at the will of the majority (with some deference given to the DM.)
Who we are Our current gaming group consists of a DM/GM (male 45) – has run every edition of D&D and many derivatives, Pathfinder, Hackmaster, Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, His wife (female 30) – has been subjected to above DM’s gaming whims for 15 years Their daughter (female 18) – grew up playing games; availability varies as she prepares for college Their son (male 19) – also grew up playing games but is rarely available due to college and a young person’s life. Two brothers (male, ages 22 and 28)
How you can contact us Email is the best method. Please send any interest and/or questions to chriszahnzinger@gmail.com.
Thank you for reading!
